Bob Trevino Likes It

Bob Trevino Likes It is a deeply moving film that lingers long after the final frame. Directed by Tracie Laymon and inspired by her own personal experience of a mistaken Facebook connection, the film offers an emotionally honest exploration of family, loneliness, friendship, and the unexpected bonds that shape our lives.

Invited to a screening in New York City, the film had already been on my radar—and as Rosie Perez noted in her introduction, tissues were indeed necessary. She was right. The story unfolds with warmth and authenticity, guided by standout performances from Barbie Ferreira and John Leguizamo, alongside French Stewart, Rachel Bay Jones, and Ashlyn Moore. Each performance feels grounded and sincere, allowing the emotional core of the film to resonate deeply.

The film’s emotional twists and turns draw the audience in completely, effortlessly balancing moments of humor and heartbreak. It’s a story that reminds us that family isn’t always defined by blood—sometimes, the people who truly show up for us become family in the most unexpected ways.

With its powerful storytelling and heartfelt performances, Bob Trevino Likes It is an unforgettable, must-see film. I eagerly anticipate what Tracie Laymon brings to the screen next.

Bob Trevino Likes It and so do I.
